Ductwork Installation & Repair

Ductwork Installation & Repair

Your furnace and AC can only perform as well as the ducts that carry the air. Many homes in the north and northwest suburbs still have their original ductwork, often with too few returns, leaky joints or runs that were never sized for central air. MMDS designs, repairs and replaces ductwork so your system can actually deliver.

Common Duct Problems We Fix

  • Weak airflow to upstairs or far rooms
  • Undersized or missing returns that choke the system
  • Leaky or disconnected ducts in basements, crawlspaces and attics
  • Noisy ducts that whistle or pop
  • New ductwork for additions, basement finishes and remodels

How We Approach It

We check static pressure and airflow before recommending changes, so you’re not paying for a bigger system when the real problem is the ducts. When you’re replacing equipment, we’ll tell you honestly whether your ductwork needs work too. Related: air balancing, air duct cleaning and zoning.

Where We Work

We serve Wheeling, Buffalo Grove, Prospect Heights, Northbrook, Arlington Heights, Deerfield, Glenview, Palatine, Mount Prospect and the rest of the north and northwest suburbs from our Wheeling, Deerfield and Crystal Lake locations. See the full service area.

FAQ

Why is one room always hotter or colder?

It’s usually an airflow problem: a long or undersized duct run, a missing return or leaks. It can often be fixed without replacing the furnace or AC.

Should I replace ductwork when I replace my furnace?

Not always. We’ll check whether your ducts can handle the new equipment and only recommend changes that make a real difference.

Can you add ductwork for a finished basement?

Yes. We’ll extend your existing system or recommend a ductless option if that works better.
