Evanston Electrical Repairs & Upgrades
MMDS handles residential electrical work in Evanston along with heating and cooling, and has been working in Chicago-area homes since 2003. Our Deerfield location is about 12 miles away. Most service calls are seen the same or next day, and we take emergency calls 24/7.
Common Electrical Needs in Evanston Homes
Evanston has a lot of older housing, so a few issues come up often:
- Not enough outlets. Older rooms often have just one or two outlets. We add circuits and outlets properly instead of relying on extension cords and power strips.
- Old wiring. Older homes may still have original wiring, including ungrounded two-prong outlets. We inspect it and update it so it can safely handle today’s loads.
- Undersized electrical service. Many older homes started with 60- or 100-amp service. Adding central air, a heat pump or a kitchen remodel often means a panel upgrade.

HVAC and Electrical From One Company
A new heat pump or AC often needs a new circuit or a panel upgrade. Because we do both, Evanston homeowners get one contractor, one schedule and one point of contact instead of coordinating an HVAC company and an electrician. See our HVAC services in Evanston.
Evanston Electrical FAQ
How fast can you get to Evanston?

Do I need a panel upgrade for a heat pump?
Not always. It depends on your current service size and what’s already on the panel. We’ll check your panel when we quote the heat pump so there are no surprises.
Do you replace smoke and carbon monoxide detectors?
Yes. We replace and add hardwired smoke and CO detectors and can interconnect them so they all sound together.
